The story begins with Akino, an energetic and enthusiastic new concierge. She seems a bit clumsy, not only hitting her head on her first day of work but also accidentally stepping on the penguin chairman's backside! We follow Akino's cautious steps as she serves various "distinguished guests," carefully interacting with different animals and solving their problems. She also thoughtfully arranges appropriate reception services according to their needs and provides the most suitable "shopping advice"—a laughing owl who wants to make his long-time wife happy, a sea mink looking for a gift for his father, a Japanese wolf troubled by how to propose to his beloved, and even helping a woolly mammoth sculptor complete an exhibition...
This book comprises ten short stories, each featuring a completely different rare animal guest. The stories unfold as Akino listens, observes, understands, and attempts to solve these guests' needs, allowing us to gradually understand the stories behind these needs. While these seemingly independent short stories are heartwarming and therapeutic, they are also connected through Akino's own growth and expanding perspective, ultimately weaving together this mysterious, vibrant, and never-before-seen utopia, and the true meaning that Kei Nishimura tries to convey to readers through this utopia.
