Some images must not appear in the media, some names of the deceased are not discussed
Some deaths are not recognized as deaths, and derealized violence spreads everywhere
Precarious life refers to lives lost in war that cannot be mourned, and lives permanently imprisoned. These lives are expelled from the community and public sphere, deemed insufficient to be considered "human," and thus stripped of the basic human right to a fair legal trial, and even denied public recognition of their passing or the right to grieve. What forces lead to these lives being treated in such a way?
When dissent is attacked as hate speech, when cameras only focus on faces deemed "symbols of victory," when the inherent goodness in critique is rejected, when the fragility of the human body is concealed, and when the violence of reality loses its tangibility, rediscovering "humanity" within human precariousness and the ability to create meaning from it is the obligation we must now fulfill.
Peace is the recognition of the precariousness of the other
