What is peace?

Peace means not fighting, not throwing cannonballs, not blowing up houses...
anything else?
Just like stability under high pressure, it is not true harmony;
Peace is not just the cessation of fighting.
Picture book master Keiko Hamada told the children:
True peace lies in respecting every life.

Having food to eat and books to read is peace;
Having the courage to admit mistakes and express opposing opinions is also peace.
Peace, you and I came to this world,
Get to know each other as friends, not enemies...

Since we are born as human beings, how can we only have the freedom to obey orders?
Even a person has the right to say no to something he doesn’t agree with!
