　　Someone once said that men and women on a journey are always lonely. Yet, master photographer Kuo Ying-Sheng, whether on a journey or not, always chooses to throw himself into the passionate turmoil of loneliness.
　　"On Another Road" is Kuo Ying-Sheng's fierce and unadorned intuitive portrayal of the women he encountered in the landscape of his life.
　　Some of these women had more than a casual relationship with Kuo Ying-Sheng, while others were merely good female friends.

　　Whether they were on the beach, in the woods, the desert, the city, or in the back seat of a car, or on a hotel bed, Kuo Ying-Sheng transformed their bodies into pigments on film, outlining the serene honesty in their nudity and the affection blooming in the crevices of time.

　　Amidst loneliness, solitude, passion, and wandering, Kuo Ying-Sheng believes in the authenticity of beauty.
　　"On Another Road" contains stories told through 404 photographs by Kuo Ying-Sheng, as well as his deeply introspective writings, revealing how he immersed himself in solitude and loneliness, yet pursued a life of passion and pleasure.

　　Kuo Ying-Sheng says: "This time, the book I put together gives me a very different feeling. I have never had such an experience looking at my own work. All my previous works, whether in magazines or exhibitions, were presented on very large layouts. The photos were also processed too cleanly, almost with a sense of潔癖. This time, my work is treated this way, and because I've never seen it like this before, it makes me re-examine myself. Not only because the layout is smaller and requires careful viewing, but also because the continuity of many photos allows me to see the 'connections' within them."

　　For readers, he also hopes: "I hope that when most people see these photographs of women I've taken, they will find them beautiful, sensual, attractive, and very unique. Not strange, posed models, nor photographs that border on pornography.
　　I believe beauty absolutely exists, and it still contains some of my fundamental elements: a sense of detachment, surrealism, and even absurdity.
　　For me, sharing these works with readers is about hoping that everyone feels that when they hold the book in their hands and flip through it, the photographs belong to them, they are not ethereal things.
