Salaries can never keep up with soaring housing prices, and policy amendments have failed to curb real estate speculation. As the housing market evolves and transforms, homes have shifted from safe havens to battlegrounds for capital, making homeownership a pipe dream for many young people.

　　The non-profit online media outlet "The Reporter" delves into the real estate speculation industry chain, visits tiny 10-ping (approx. 350 sq ft) million-dollar apartments, and documents how contemporary Taiwanese youth, facing unaffordable housing prices and ever-increasing rents, have no choice but to enter the "small apartment era." As economically affordable living spaces gradually hit rock bottom, and talk of quality of life becomes impossible, has the Taiwanese ideal of "starting a family" become increasingly confined to a birdcage-like cramped existence?

　　The real estate speculation industry chain has been updated and upgraded with skyrocketing housing prices. The low-threshold, high-return speculation model attracts a large number of investors, and countermeasures in response to policy changes are endless, causing housing prices to spiral out of control.
