Little Joanna was shocked and saddened, unable to eat her dinner...
Thinking of the poor people who couldn't even get enough to eat, Joanna suddenly had an idea:
"If I were mayor, I would never let citizens go to bed hungry!"
To run for mayor, one must have a platform. So Joanna went to the library to research, constantly asked her parents questions, and thought things through herself. Finally, she came up with her platform!
What platform did Joanna come up with? Does she have a chance to be elected mayor?
The gap between rich and poor is widening in many countries around the world, with some impoverished people unable to even afford three meals a day. Do those politicians who spout slogans and platforms during elections truly care about these people at the bottom of society?
Although little Joanna is young, her ideas are the purest and most practical. This book presents this important social issue in a lively and engaging way.
