Apart from love, there is nothing more important in life. This is a literary classic that young people of every era hold in their hands.
"The Sorrows of Young Werther" is Goethe's own confession of youthful love and is highly autobiographical. Most of the book is written in epistolary style: young Werther wrote to his best friend William, stating that he came to the small town of Walheim to handle his mother's inheritance and fell deeply in love with the local natural scenery and simple people. He also fell in love with the judge's daughter Charlotte. . The two are very compatible, but Lotte is already engaged. The pain of broken love kept gnawing at Werther's sentimental heart, so he left Lotte sadly and performed his official duties in the embassy. Werther, who has an upright personality, is incompatible with the world. The hypocritical values of the world make him quit his job and escape to Valheim, the paradise in his heart, to face the troubles of love again. Werther finally understood that his love affair with Lotte would have no consequences, so he decided to commit suicide to get rid of the pain of love.
