　　Xi Xi (1937–2022), born Zhang Yan in Shanghai, settled in Hong Kong in 1950. She graduated from Grantham College of Education and taught for many years. After retirement, she devoted herself to writing and received numerous awards from various regions, including the Hua Zong Award for World Chinese Literature (2005), Hong Kong Book Fair Author of the Year (2011), Hsing Yun Global Chinese Literary Award for Contribution (2014), Newman Prize for Chinese Literature (2019), Cikada Prize (2019), and Hong Kong Arts Development Awards Lifetime Achievement Award (2022). Her genres spanned novels, essays, new poetry, and criticism. Before her death, she published forty-five works, including "My City," "A Girl Like Me," "Mourning a Breast," "Flying Carpet," "Not Words," "The Astronomer," "Xi Xi on Film," "Animal Carnival: Xi Xi's Animal Poems," etc.
