"The Well-Tempered Clavier" is a collection of musical pieces by Bach written for young students to practice piano. The harmonic system created by these pieces allows for free modulation between keys, where any key can serve as the tonic, enabling the composition of complex forms such as fugues. Artist Son Ni's creations often revolve around deformed spaces formed by lines and spatial disturbances created by the curves of the human body. The narratives in her works repeatedly explore different sub-themes, with various melodies emerging from the freedom of her brushstrokes, yet maintaining structural balance and returning to the main theme. Similarly, as an exercise of wrist and finger strength, Ni uses brushstrokes as anchor points and time as an axis, constantly returning to and re-depicting images through daily practice over several years. This book, "The Well-Tempered Us," can be seen not only as her own well-tempered practice of creation but also as a musical score achieved through the confluence of time by the artist.
