Poet Sung Shang-Wei's fourth poetry collection, "Deeper Than the Sea," features 67 poems written between 2015 and 2017. The book is divided into two parts: Part One takes internal emotions as its creative starting point, with softly whispered gentle verses and vivid, everyday imagery depicting the feelings that arise when lives intersect, such as love, regret, and loneliness. Part Two incorporates recent social issues into the poems, with direct and colloquial verses brimming with intense emotion, like energy building before a volcanic eruption, imbued with the poet's concern and hope for the world.
