This collection of essays is Vonnegut's first work since he announced his retirement from writing in 1997. With his unique black humor style, he laughs in the face of disaster, absurdity, and despair. Vonnegut recalls some important historical events he experienced throughout his life, the creation process of several representative works, and the reasons behind the "sci-fi" and "black humor" styles of his novels. It also includes his profound reflections and discussions on major issues such as politics, human technology, and ecology.
