Is it a movie? Not a movie? Not a movie anymore? Still a movie?
What exactly is a movie?

"The Lumière Galaxy" is a tribute to McLuhan's classic work "Gutenberg's Galaxy". Just as Gutenberg's printing press brought a revolution in writing, the Lumière brothers also brought a revolution in image creation to mankind.

Throughout the twentieth century, cinema has been a shining and easily identifiable star high in the sky. But that is no longer the case today. The Big Bang has already occurred, and the movie star has turned into thousands of suns, each attracting celestial matter and forming new galaxies. The elements that made up the original movie are still present in these objects, but what we see now are astronomical galaxies with a much larger scale and a more diverse combination of structures. There is light at the centers of galaxies and at the edges of the universe, some shining like ultraviolet light, others almost exhausted. There were new constellations and new orbits, and a brilliant Milky Way stretched across the sky, still visible during the day.

For us denizens of the new century, or rather the new millennium, that’s what movies are: the Lumiere Galaxy.
