Days of laughter, days of sadness, days of trouble,
We accompany each other and walk together
Use a paintbrush to describe the fleeting twenty-four months of cuddling closely with your baby.
Japanese graphic illustrator and designer, Ayako Ayako (くぼあやこ) had to suspend her creative work due to childbirth and slow down the pace of her life. While adjusting to the new role of "mother", I decided to write a pen to record the growth of my child. It was originally published on the social platform as a personal expression of feelings for a new mother, but it aroused the response of many netizens, and was subsequently compiled into a book.
The book depicts all kinds of trivial parenting matters that novice parents will surely experience, such as: learning how to bathe their children, feeding in shifts in the middle of the night, taking their children to the hospital for vaccinations... Watching your children learn to stand and run from babbling to running. Jump, become angry and funny when making mischief, and show the cutest smile in the world when falling asleep.
It also revealed her state of mind as a first-time mother: It seemed like she had been abandoned by the world and only had the function of raising children. I was worried that my child's crying would disturb the train passengers, so I chose to walk to the exit connecting the carriages to take a breath. I cried when being comforted by the pediatric nurse. I also saw from the children the interaction between myself and my parents in the past...
The author uses simple brushstrokes and black and white lines to outline a hundred scenes of the years full of Japanese ukiyo-e style. The ups and downs of the twenty-four months are reproduced in the book like scenes from a family album.
