A complete photo record of the sculpting process of the Sea of Corruption world, created with Takashi Takeya as the central figure.
A thorough introduction to the entire process, from design sketches to sculpting, production, and completion, of the three-dimensional exhibit themed on the "Sea of Corruption" from "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind"!!
Renowned model sculptor Takashi Takeya and Studio Ghibli collaborate for the first time!
In Hayao Miyazaki's early work "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind," the "Sea of Corruption" is a mysterious ecosystem composed of fungi after the destruction of human civilization, filled with countless microorganisms, giant insects, thriving trees, and releasing miasma. Takashi Takeya gained fame for his sculptural art design in Keita Amemiya's films. Due to his superb sculpting and design skills, he has successively participated in the prototype production, special shaping, and toy design of tokusatsu works and films, and has enthusiastic fans overseas. It is said that Mark Parker, CEO of NIKE, who loves art collection, also personally acquired Takashi Takeya's sculptural works.
This photo album presents Takashi Takeya's sculptured species from the Sea of Corruption world, faithfully reproducing the Ohm, Ohmu, insect, gnat, fungi, God Warrior, and equipment from the Sea of Corruption in "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind." This book reveals the production process of these models, with detailed photos and explanations by Takashi Takeya. Readers who love Takashi Takeya's works or Ghibli animations can experience a rich sense of sculptural beauty.
