"Flower" is a comic drawn by Dayo Matsumoto based on the themes of "tribes" and "festivals". It was originally a script for the 41st performance of the "Black Tent" theater company in Tokyo in 1998. It is one of the few works in which he collaborates with creators from other fields. . When the book was published in 2002, Matsumoto Taiyo made extensive additions and revisions to every page, and added new drawings.

The story revolves around two tribes, the "Noodle Makers" who are named after flowers, and the "Sacrificial Dancers" who are named after birds. The chief of the Noodle Makers decided to pass the heir to his second son "Chun", because the eldest son "Lily" was afraid of the outside world and always shut himself in his room. However, Chun is unable to sense "them" in the mountains and forests like Lily, and is not good at making masks, so she is questioned by the ritual dancers. For the sake of the tribe and family, will Lily be able to step out and see the world, or will Chun be able to practice the inherited skills? The story intertwined with brotherly love and family inheritance unfolds...
