// All she carries with her is the bones of her journey——
The flesh is consumed by longing—
She wanted to see her lover again——
but the devil
The mirror of love that evades the human eye
and crush it to pieces
──Poetic drama "Eli"
// They are ready to spend their last few moments of depression
Also put it in a backpack and use it as a chrysalis,
One day I will turn into butterfly wings
Take them to the end of their journey.
──〈All countries are ready〉
"Her outstanding lyrical and dramatic works illustrate Israel's destiny with moving power." ──Nobel Prize Committee
Nelly. Shakes is the second female poet in history to win the Nobel Prize for Literature. At the age of 49, she fled to Sweden to escape persecution by the Nazi Party. Since then, her poems have been inspired by suffering, escape, and killing, but there are no accusations, accusations, or gestures of suffering. Shakes' poems are extremely mysterious, mourning the martyrs and describing war, death and homelessness with melancholy and beautiful metaphors.
"The Weight of a Butterfly" is selected from Nellie. Sachs's nine collections of poetry include the important poetic drama "Eli", which was highly recognized by the Nobel Prize Committee for Literature.
