About the Author:
Having worked in various roles in television news—program director, reporter, and anchor—she loves listening to stories, telling stories, and being a storyteller.
After her mother's passing, she began to reflect on life and aspired to change careers. She is currently studying speech therapy, hoping to transform her experience as a caregiver into nourishment, exploring the world from a different perspective and experiencing the love and connection between people.
Synopsis:
This is a collection of essays documenting the author's journey with her mother through her battle with cancer.
Since her mother's cancer diagnosis, the author embarked on a ten-year journey as a caregiver, filled with joy, sorrow, hardship, and happiness. The book not only records the daily interactions between the author and her mother but also subtly portrays, from a daughter's perspective, the helplessness and struggles of a patient facing life and death.
From her secondary school years, through university graduation, to entering the workforce, the author, on her caregiver journey, oscillated between hope and despair. She practiced confronting impermanence and accepting loss while also feeling the weight of love.
The author spent three years整理 organizing these memories, recording the precious time spent with her mother, and writing this love letter to the world on her behalf.
