In 1996, genius editor Shigeo Goto went to New York to interview music artist Ryuichi Sakamoto with 1,000 questions. The questioning process lasted for two years and was later compiled into "skmt1". Three years later, the two started a second conversation, which lasted for ten years until it ended in 2006 and was included in "skmt2". The two books were compiled into "skmt: Who is Ryuichi Sakamoto".

"If possible, I want to maintain an amorphous state until the end.
Whether thinking or living, I don’t want to maintain consistency.
Life is full of contradictions, among which one is the most untrustworthy. "

This book is a collection of ten years of uninterrupted interviews and conversations from 1996 to 2006. It also includes some of Sakamoto Ryuichi's diaries, random thoughts, blog articles, etc. Different from the common form of autobiography, there is no traditional introduction, explanation, or analysis in the whole book; on the contrary, each chapter often starts from a simple theme, and then revolves around the theme, like a chat with friends, and goes deeper and deeper step by step. in. Therefore, each chapter is quite fragmented, but it cleverly maintains a coherent unity along Sakamoto Ryuichi's own core ideas. As Shigeo Goto said - "Human is a comprehensive organism that is constantly in motion." Through these fragmented files and notes, this book accurately records the well-known Sakamoto Ryuichi in different time and space. This allows readers to get closer to his creative context and life history, and at the same time, they can discover new aspects of Sakamoto Ryuichi that they have never imagined. It can be said that every chapter of this book repeatedly asks the question "Who is Ryuichi Sakamoto?" in a very profound way.
