There must be a star
You can witness this small island
Not just sad crying
When the south wind brings the warm breath of sea water
When the grapes are filled with the juice of love
When injured hands hold each other tightly
The island will rise like flying fish in the ocean
------Excerpt from Yang Du's "Wish"

"Stars of the Next Century" was mainly created between 1998 and 1999, heading towards the cross-century moment. It took two years to create and present Taiwan's distinct wandering spirit. Combining the basic characters of Taiwan's immigrant society: wandering, wandering, and the image of Ulysses, this is used as a foundation to depict the culture of Taiwan's common people's lives, such as: Dihua Street, Lu Rou Rice, and rice fields; combined with love, the structure becomes a whole Compose love poems.

This is an ode to the land. A review of the spirit of Ulysses in Taiwan. Among them, the classical imagery of the Tang Dynasty is used, as well as the vegetation, mountains and rivers of rural Taiwan, and the food, labor, sweat, love, reproduction, and succession of descendants in ordinary people's lives.

This group of poems bid farewell to the twentieth century with ancient and strong love. On September 21, 1999, the September 21 earthquake occurred in Taiwan. This series of poems looks at the next century with the "stars of another century".

The selected poems of poet Yang Du are paired with the early paintings of designer He Jiaxing, integrating the artist's painting style and the poet's literary talent to show the diverse aspects of poetry.
