Twenty-eight Governor of Hong Kong

This book is a reprint of "The Twenty-Eight Governors of Hong Kong" in 2012, and the content is the same as the first edition. The author, Zhang Lien-hing, inherits the tradition of historians' biographies and uses the deeds of the twenty-eight governors of Hong Kong from 1843 to 1997 to weave the modern history of Hong Kong for more than 150 years from the first Opium War to the handover. In addition to describing and evaluating the actions of successive Governors in Hong Kong, this book also introduces Hong Kong's internal and external political situation, economic environment, social problems, and people's livelihood conditions in various periods under the British rule, which is very helpful for readers to understand Hong Kong's past and present.
