　　At school, they said Kate was the ugliest girl,
　　and that she was a bit clumsy, and nobody wanted to be her friend.

　　But Kate didn't care at all; she always smiled.

　　She saw an experienced scientist, an agile astronaut, a powerful ninja, a marshmallow expert, a charismatic galactic president… and a brave and confident little girl!

　　In the mirror, Kate saw a creative girl full of passion for many new and exciting things. She knew she was humorous, brave, patient, avant-garde, and daring, completely unlike what those people said! At the end of the story, we see Kate chatting and laughing with her friends at school, while the bullies sulk on the side because they couldn't achieve their goal.

　　There are many picture books about school bullying, but the unique aspect of this story is Kate's perspective and actions. Mockery is invisible, yet its power is terrifying. Once you "accept mockery," it can cause astonishing damage. Fortunately, Kate has a stronger support system than imagination: her courage to firmly reject being labeled by others! Because Kate knows that the best revenge is to live well and never be limited by others' evaluations.

　　What an interesting book! The little girl on the cover stands alone with her back to us, but the reflections in the window show different scenes: the little girl smiling playfully, accompanied by a unicorn, a red elephant, and a yellow lion, making one curious about the story. Kate sees her inner world in the mirror; the illustrations on the left and right present a contrast between reality and imagination: the bottles and shampoo in the bathroom on the left page transform into beakers and test tubes in a laboratory in the imagined world on the right; or a bathtub with potted plants becomes a small boat under the romantic moonlight. Flipping through the pages, it feels as if one is following Kate from an ordinary daily life into a vast inner world. —Sebastian

　　Seeing Kate so happy and confident, whether in the real or created world, makes one applaud her from the bottom of their heart! I truly wish that when I was a child, I could have known Kate and understood that I also had the power to turn disadvantages around and that there could be different solutions to problems.

　　At the beginning of the story, we see Kate at school, mocked by several malicious classmates who call her "the ugliest girl in school." For children, attacks on appearance are the most damaging. Fortunately, Kate has her own way of dealing with it, which prevents her from falling into the victim's trap.

　　I recommend reading this with your children. It's important to talk to them about themselves and their school life. We can ask children what they see themselves as, what their interests and strengths are, and how to stay away from malicious words.
