"Collaborative Colonial Power" is the Chinese translation of Law Wing-sang's 2009 book, *Collaborative Colonial Power – The Making of the Hong Kong Chinese*. This book explores the relationship between significant historical moments following Hong Kong's 1997 handover of sovereignty and the characteristics of Hong Kong's colonial power, extending to the influence of this colonial power on Hong Kong's destiny.

The book also discusses the omnipresence of colonial power and the identity disputes among Hong Kong Chinese. It aims not merely to portray the mixed characteristics of Hong Kong culture, nor to simply recount historical facts of Sino-Western collusion already highlighted by some Hong Kong historians. Instead, this book intends to address how Hong Kong's "Chineseness" and colonial history intertwine, in order to dismantle the conceptual dualisms that persist in postcolonial cultural studies.
