"A Different Perspective" is a documentary photobook about Macau by the late Macanese photographer Li Yu-fan, and also his first photographic publication released posthumously.
As a continuously productive photographer, his proactive nature, born from daily observations and self-awareness, made him roam like a wanderer through different areas of Macau, accumulating many accidental moments amid change and transience.
His works are rich and diverse, yet rarely compiled into publications. This photobook includes some highly representative works that have never been published before. It is divided into eight sections, featuring 121 works, showcasing some less common cityscapes of Macau from the 1990s before the handover to the early post-handover period, as well as a chapter on the Hengqin Plan, which he primarily spearheaded during his lifetime.
The tumult of the times and the rise and fall of the city all leave irreplaceable traces in his works.
