History is the record of society's life. In large (male) history, women's position is mostly peripheral, ambiguous, or absent. Oral history is an important subject in contemporary women's studies. Through oral storytelling, (older) women tell their stories, build dignity, and present themselves: history can be the fabric of ordinary and trivial lives. Background notes are given on the culture, geography, history, etc. of Macao mentioned in the seven stories. In addition to the text, a famous Macao photographer took a total of 55 pictures of old scenes, showing the precious appearance of Macao from the early 20th century to the early 1980s (photos provided by the Macao Museum of Art, Macao Archives, and Macao Memory and History Network); There are 14 portrait photos of the women interviewed; 9 pencil drawings by the author depicting objects of the era related to the women interviewed.
