This book is based on Dr. Lo Wai-luk's appreciative writings on comedy, supplemented by two lectures, and has been expanded, deleted, and integrated to align with the concept of "comic vision" and dramatic analysis, offering a reference for interested readers. In the early 1990s, Dr. Lo Wai-luk studied tragedy, starting with classical Chinese drama, and established a "tragic structure." Later, he also encountered comedy in various critical works. Over the decades, experiencing both joy and sorrow in life, he gradually came to realize that tragedy and comedy might be complementary and mutually reinforcing, integrating into an indispensable path for the ultimate exploration of life on earth.
