Hell is not empty, vow not to become a Buddha.
Where is hell?
The "Hell is Empty" series is a shooting project of artist Yao Ruizhong who has visited palaces and temples with hell scenes in Taiwan in recent years and explored Taiwan's beliefs. "Try to make heaven look like hell, and hell look like heaven." Many scenes of hell trial based on Taoism or mixed beliefs of Buddhism and Taoism were shot with Polaroid. The unique Taiwanese beauty of strangeness and cuteness.
The book uses a variety of paper materials and colors to lay out the spatial layers, infiltrating the entanglement of the society, the times, and the humanistic atmosphere. It also includes illustrations and spells drawn by the artist's two eminent disciples, the Taoist Chen Baiyu, and the woodcut prints printed by the believer Cai Junsheng. The three sides of the book are painted in gold , together with the magenta typhoon collage cover and reveal the relics of the play in time and space. Under the Polaroid appearance of over-exposure, out-of-focus and instant development, it is even more blurred and fantastic, and the human world sees hell. As Yao Ruizhong said: "Hell is originally empty, but delusional thoughts give rise to all envy, jealousy and hatred, and hell appears."
