The photobook "Under the Flyover" collects images of the underside of the flyover in Hong Kong from 2013 to the present by photographer Zhou Haowen.

At the bottom of the overpass, which can be seen every day, there are pieces of public space between the visible and the invisible. It's so close that you can touch it, but it seems so far away in another parallel time and space.

Dehumanized space design, use, management, deported homeless people, hawkers and other disadvantaged groups, weird and grotesque sculptures and gardens, as long as we are willing to stop for a moment, it is not difficult to imagine the meaning behind these spaces, and stories that have happened. Perhaps, in fact, we have always understood it, but we all chose to turn a blind eye and forget it.

Behind the prosperity, the hidden scenery and stories have never disappeared with our ignorance, and even continue.

This is another side of our Hong Kong.

All the photos in this book are specially printed with silver ink on thick black paper to highlight the strange absurdity of the space under the bridge. Among them, Liu Qingping (photographer), Huang Yuxuan (Hong Kong urban researcher and artist) and Cui Zizhao (Macao media person, photographer, currently a master student of the National Institute of Development, National Taiwan University) were invited to write articles, respectively from different aspects of art and society. Explore this space and phenomenon that is around us every day but is often overlooked.
