Before I die, I want to hear the meow of a cat

After talking about drinking that night, I talked more and more. From dropping out of school, which was originally a big deal, to talking about some of the unpleasant memories I had in the dormitory, to love, family, and work...the things mentioned were all trivial and miscellaneous. Perhaps I knew at the time that the thing that knocked me down was indeed not Something, but everything.

I have nothing to love and nothing to hate, I have nothing to lose and nothing to suffer, so I am free. Even if it proves not to be the case later, at least for the moment, these nothingnesses free me from suffocation.
