  A whole universe,
  in one picture book.

"The Little Alien is probably my most personal and emotional work,
and possibly the strangest, most complex, and most adventurous picture book."
  ——Manuel Marsol
In some ways, The Little Alien can be considered Manuel Marsol's first book. This work, which began in 2013, had five of its illustrations selected for the Bologna Children's Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition for the first time. However, due to many personal emotional factors, he found it difficult to complete the book. Even though he later published many popular picture books such as Ahab and the White Whale, In the Mountains, and The Museum, all of which won awards, it wasn't until 2023, ten years later, after accumulating years of experience in picture book creation and becoming a father, that he finally completed The Little Alien and had it published.
☆☆ "I no longer remember when Astro, the little alien, visited us.
It was a very, very long time ago. Perhaps thousands or tens of thousands of years ago." ☆☆
The narrator is a creature/monster on a certain planet who has "only lived for a few hundred years," describing how Astro, a little alien in an orange-red spacesuit, suddenly arrived one day and diligently carried out some kind of mission every day.

The various strange and wonderful creatures on this planet are very curious about this small yellow figure exploring everywhere. One of the creatures (I) becomes friends with the little alien. The two share secrets, play, and explore together, and sometimes the little alien misses home...
☆☆ "I don't know what he was thinking.
How could I know? I've only lived for a few hundred years myself!" ☆☆
However, one day, "I" was gone. The little alien went from disbelief to anger to confusion, and finally embarked on a new journey...
At this point, the story takes another turn, and the wordless images unfold another chapter full of memories and philosophy.
