Factory: Behind the World's Factory

One day, the factory left, and the workers were left behind.

Yuqi's mother worked in a plastic doll factory for nearly twenty years. Just a few months before her retirement, the factory announced its closure and relocation to mainland China. As a grassroots employee, her mother faced unemployment. Despite her best efforts, she received severance pay far less than her retirement pension. To support her family, she had to move from one processing factory to another, many of which had harsh working conditions. This work is not only the author's tribute to her mother but also a narrative for many others who, after years of labor, still cannot afford a basic standard of living.
