This book continues the concept of "revisiting old photographs at their original sites." Over the past year, the author has collected black-and-white or sepia-toned old photos from auctions, online, private collectors, antique shops, and even Portugal. The oldest of these photos was taken in the Protestant Cemetery in the 19th century. Through then-and-now comparisons, the book reveals the tremendous changes Macau has undergone in recent years: many scenes have permanently disappeared, and "things are no longer as they once were" has become an irreversible reality.
