About the Author

Xi Xi, whose real name is Cheung Yin, was born in Shanghai in 1938 and hails from Zhongshan, Guangdong. She graduated from Grantham College of Education in Hong Kong and taught for a period. She now dedicates herself to literary creation and research and is a member of the "Su Yeh Literature" group. Her approximately twenty works include poetry, novels, essays, and other genres, all of which are outstanding, incisive, and profound. Her short stories include "A Woman Like Me," "The Man with the Beard," "Handscroll," and "Mother Fish," among others, all part of the Hung Fan Literary Series. Xi Xi's work is characterized by dynamic stylistic changes, making her one of the most daring and innovative contemporary authors who constantly explores new techniques and breaks new ground.
