Portuguese national treasure writer

Tied with Neruda as "the most representative poet of the 20th century"

No matter how tired life is, it cannot be without poetry.

No matter how full your life is, you cannot lose Pessoa.

Writing is eternity, feeling is existence.

"I know the truth and therefore I am happy."

Every separation is a death.

On this train we call life

We are just passers-by in each other's lives,

When we arrived at the station, we were inevitably disappointed. …

All that fills my heart is the sadness of death and the world.

All those deaths exist in my heart.

And my heart is slightly larger than the entire universe

◤The book contains a total of 238 poems written by Pessoa himself and four aliases. "Heteronyms" are literary personalities created by Pessoa. They have different thoughts, opinions, and literary styles, and they often conflict with the ideas of their creator, Pessoa.

The four people with different names in this book are:

‧Master Caeiro: a shepherd and a "nature poet" who has never received education. His apprentices Campos, Reis and Pessoa all regard him as their master.

‧Res: A Portuguese physician living in Brazil. His work style inherits the intellectual level and polytheistic beliefs of Caeiro's works, and tends to be ascetic and rational.

‧Campus: frivolous, noisy, adventurous (only in the mind and fantasy), inherits Caeiro's emotional level, and is also influenced by Whitman's poetry.

‧Shechi: An English heteronymist who was born in the same year, month and day as Pessoa himself. His poems cover the main creative themes of the above three heteronyms. ◢
