=Synopsis=
Everyone has left, 
and Frank is all alone.

It's always like this, always.
Returning home, he drips big tears into a pot,
adds four hundred grams of sugar, stirs well, then boils it,
for an hour, or even longer,
maybe two hours, or three hours,
he decides…

Frank, returning home alone, contrasts with his friends who are together. He seems to want to join them, yet also not really. The story doesn't explain why Frank is alone; we only see Frank isolated in the illustrations. Back home, Frank boils a pot of jam with his tears. After the jam is cooked, someone seems to be peeking through the window… Will Frank still be alone?
