Once Upon a Time (New Edition) | Written Around 1990: 153 life notes + 10 additional short stories

The original book title, "Once – Lam Chik Before and After '90", is a compilation of three small books by Lam Chik, "A Diary of a Certain Month", "Impromptu Performance", and "On the Brink of Prosperity", published in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

This new edition selects 153 of the original daily notes and adds 10 Cantonese "short-short stories" (Chapter 7: "Flash Fiction Written in Youth") written by Lam Chik in his very early days. This allows readers and the author to revisit scenes of "once" where creativity and reality merge. As the author states: "Thanks to me treating those columns as diaries, I left behind so many fragments of feelings and snippets of life due to trivial matters. Only now can I reflect on my former self and see how I used to view people, events, things, the world, and relationships."
