Following "Cats of the Louvre" in 2017, "Tokyo Days" is Taiyo Matsumoto's new serialized work, meticulously crafted over two years. Unlike his previous works, "Tokyo Days" is told from the perspective of a fifty-year-old, bald, meticulously organized manga editor who has resigned. Set against the seemingly ordinary backdrop of Tokyo life, it uses "manga" itself as its axis, sketching out the stories and emotions of the people involved in the manga scene, and delving into the subtle nuances of their emotions in their "daily lives."

The story begins with the sudden resignation of Shiozawa, a veteran editor in his fifties who has quietly toiled in the manga industry for thirty years. After his resignation, readers follow Shiozawa as he revisits old acquaintances—offering advice to a once-famous but declining veteran mangaka, Chang Zuo; being entrusted by his serious and insightful junior editor, Lin, to resolve issues between her and the difficult mangaka, Aoki; and attending the funeral of mangaka Tachibana, whom he oversaw when he first started, and visiting her studio one last time, where he sees Tachibana's spirit appear and speak to him...

Through each step of the journey, readers gradually understand Shiozawa's reasons for resigning and his inability to let go of manga. Following in his footsteps, they come to confront his unshakeable passion and original love for manga. At the same time, one can feel the intertwined relationships among people connected by manga, and the precious emotional bonds between them.
