Case-Crossing River

 

　　In a narrative where history and virtual space coexist, the protagonists embark on a 400-year dialectical journey along the Tamsui River.

 

　　Xiao Lu and her AI assistant, Ah He, whose appearance constantly changes, embark on a rich journey through time along the Tamsui River, from 1582 to 1983. Through ancient documents and archival materials, they reconstruct five historical events along the riverbanks.

 

　　As their journey unfolds, they gradually discover that history is not merely a record of facts, but a complex puzzle woven from multiple narratives. So, what is the true meaning of recording and studying history? What era and space is Xiao Lu in, and why is she studying the history of the Tamsui River? Her true identity will be revealed at the end of the story!

 

　　Chou Chien-Hsin, the cartoonist behind "The Boy from Clearwater," once again showcases multiple techniques, using different papers and combining gongbi, ink wash, printmaking, comics, and digital drawing to create this visually stunning and fluid graphic novel. The author uses the river as a latitude and time as a longitude, weaving a complex relationship between time, space, and humanity. The lighthearted plot also demonstrates that in an AI era where data collection, construction, analysis, and visualization can be efficiently completed, "critical thinking" is the core factor for success.
