Do we really know Daido Moriyama?
In 2009, "Moriyama Fever" officially debuted, triggering a whirlwind from publication and exhibition to coming to Taiwan in person. In addition to several self-narrative essays, this is the first book that provides a perspective on Moriyama Daido's creation. Through his first-hand autobiography, we learn about his creative process since the 1960s, and gain a profound interpretation of his classic theme series, creative techniques and imaging thinking.
Daido Moriyama wanders the streets of Shinjuku, is obsessed with the memory of dogs, and Daido Moriyama enters photography because of a broken love. Why did he start photography? Over seventy years old, Daido Moriyama still maintains his style and continues to move quickly. How did this representative, who is famous for his high-contrast, coarse-grained, blurred, shaken, out-of-focus, and strong black and white photography style, embark on the path of photography? What are your reflections on photography? How to participate in the filming of Hideo Hosoe's "Rose Punishment"? Why self-publish publications? How to be inspired by Andy Warhol, William Klein, and Dongsong Lighting? Which novel by Osamu Dazai have you read over and over again? How to integrate with the camera and enter the state of street shooting for 30 minutes non-stop? Completed the 600-page "Shinjuku" photography book? Why does the work particularly resonate with young people? How did he accept the invitation of Kenjiro Fujii to shoot the documentary "≒Moriyama Daido"? Why did you want to take a portrait of Utada Hikari?
