After nine years of meticulous work, Chen Li, a heavyweight poet, releases his 15th poetry collection.

Blue, flower basket, Hualien blue,
Mobilizing the mountain blue and sea blue of Hualien blue,
Mobilizing the pine shadows of Meilun Mountain and the willow shadows of Jingting Mountain into Hualien blue,
Hualien blue has never mobilized life and death, never mobilized longing and disappointment,
Hualien blue sings softly, Hualien blue gently blends sorrow with the cool summer sea breeze,
Blending island with history, dream with geography, mobilizing the Decameron under Jingting and Qixingtan.
"One Hundred Strokes of Light Blue" is Chen Li's latest poetry collection after a nine-year hiatus, comprising 64 new poems of varying lengths. It continues his consistently fresh and bold style, including the clever use of puns and homophones, experiments with visual and concrete poetry, and the embedding and rewriting of classical poetic allusions. It also ventures into many new themes. From personal reflections on illness to Taiwan's century-long history, from a poetic family journey to a family's poetic journey, from political parody and satire to erotic flights of fancy, Chen Li continuously breaks through the barriers of modern Chinese poetry creation, revealing infinite possibilities.
As a Hualien poet who has been performing for nearly fifty years, Chen Li "sings his Hualien blues softly" in this book, "亂彈亂舞亂中有序" (randomly strumming, randomly dancing, with order in chaos). He attempts, through this "one-man band that bangs and sings at will," to blend island with history, dream with geography, playing out one hundred strokes of light blue music.
