"Macau Modern Architecture Walking Tour Guide" is planned and published by Docomomo Macau, a non-profit organization dedicated to documenting and preserving Macao's modern architecture, sites, and communities influenced by modernism. This bilingual English-Chinese "guide" focuses on 20th-century Macau, meticulously selecting a series of representative buildings completed in that century. Through diverse contemporary architectural typologies as examples, it showcases the richness and integration of Macau's modern heritage.
These thirty-seven selected buildings are distributed across eight areas (Coloane, Inner Harbour, Nam Van, Guia Hill, Reservoir, Mong Ha, Toi San, and Coloane), and corresponding walking routes have been designed for each area, allowing readers (walkers) to experience the impact of modernist architecture on the urban development of different regions in Macau.
