The person who seems so far away might be the good friend who understands you. He is Wolf, a rich but socially anxious painter. He is Dog, a poor but carefree gardener. Their lives are vastly different, yet their joys and sorrows are intertwined.
Marika Maijala is another Finnish artist, following Tove Jansson, to gain international recognition. She has been nominated eight times for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, and her picture books have been published in over a dozen countries and regions, beloved by readers. Her representative work, "Run, Rose!", won Finland's highest award for children's book illustration, the Rudolf Koivu Prize. The illustrations from the book were also selected for the 2019 Bologna Illustrators Exhibition.
