This book is both aesthetics and fairy tales. Chen Zhiyong, an international picture book master, combined sculptures and fairy tales, coordinated photography and aesthetics, kneaded 75 hand-made sculptures, and interpreted 75 visual images of the Grimm's fairy tale "There is a devil in human nature, and there are people in the devil."

The copper-colored frog waits for the love of the princess in the waves of sugar and salt,
Rapunzel is waiting for free love in a brocade world full of berries and petals,
Cinderella sleeps in a claustrophobic hearth glowing with gold leaf on her face,
And, the six soldiers gathered on the chessboard, intending to defeat the king by strategy instead of chance...

Chen Zhiyong's sculptures are inspired by Inuit stone carvings and pre-Columbian pottery puppets. He uses coagulated paper pulp and air-dried clay as the base, and then paints, shoe polish and oxidized metal polishing paints, and timely adds materials from nature such as branches, bronze, rice grains, gold leaf, berries and sand. These sculptures with mellow folk charm are very ingenious in configuration and composition, echoing ancient fairy tales. Under the seemingly rough structure, there are layers of delicate psychological operations, and they also reproduce the intriguing slang in ancient fairy tales and folk tales. , magic and imagination.

These 75 pieces of sculptures with brief quotes from fairy tales can be regarded as three-dimensional story illustrations. They are photographed and imaged after sophisticated lighting. With the interweaving of light and shadow, they explore the benevolence and cruelty, kindness and viciousness, loyalty and treachery, rationality and superstition in fairy tales. , infatuation and unfeeling, and the ambiguous zone where it is difficult to decide whether it is black or white. This book fully absorbs the gloom and light of Grimm's fairy tales, like a magic mirror, reflecting the collective subconsciousness of human beings for hundreds of years, and like a magic carpet, allowing people to go back to their childhood and experience the land of fairy tales again.
