This book quotes an allusion that mixes historical facts (Kublai Khan) and the novel "The Travels of Marco Polo". In fact, it just points out Calvino's "intention" of crossing the boundary between fiction and reality, allowing readers to have multiple interpretations and speculations (what is the author's intention? , has always been a question left for the audience to ponder).
There are a total of five stories in the book. The order in which these stories appear has a structural relationship according to their notation and chapter order. Except for Chapters 1 and 9, which each have ten stories, each chapter has five different stories. The story of the theme, and a new theme appears in each chapter in sequence, arranged according to the title, exactly in the order of five, four, three, two and one. This orderly arrangement reflects the formal interests of structuralism and semiotics.
