Our eyes are one of our most important sensory organs. Through our eyes, we can read, play, create, and appreciate beautiful scenery and pictures.

In "The Story of the Eye," author Seiichi Horiuchi uses concrete and vivid illustrations to meticulously depict the structure and function of each part of the eye, and teaches children how to protect their eyes. For example, when watching TV, maintain a distance of 1.5 meters; do not read in direct sunlight; and maintain a distance of 30 centimeters when reading.

Interestingly, the author has drawn some pictures that create optical illusions, allowing young readers to play games while reading and experience the wonder of illusions. The author also uses dark backgrounds with silhouettes to show that when eyes are open in a dark place, things cannot be seen clearly; and uses an all-black spread to show that nothing can be seen when eyes are closed.
