A gentle and heartwarming picture book
For every child who is growing up
To experience setbacks together, embrace emotional ups and downs
And rediscover smiles and good moods
There once was a little kitten named Dottie. She had many adorable red dots on her body, and her mother always gently said, "Your dots are truly special." Dottie was always happy to hear this and full of confidence.
However, one day, things started to get a little strange... She accidentally spilled soup, fell into the toilet, her kite string got tangled, she was teased by classmates, and she fell off her bike. Every time she messed something up, a red dot would fall off her body. Eventually, not a single dot remained.
"I'm not Dottie anymore..." the little kitten sadly thought. Her mother quietly stayed with her, picked up the fallen dots, and gently said, "Let's say goodbye to the dots! Sometimes, failure is also a kind of nourishment."
On an afternoon after the rain, something wonderful happened! The dots buried in the soil quickly sprouted, bloomed, and bore fruit. The red fruits sparkled in the sun. Dottie and her mother cooked a big meal together. She excitedly said, "It's okay to fail, tomorrow, I'm going to keep challenging fun things!"
The next day, as she bravely climbed a tree, her mother was surprised to discover—new dots had grown on the little kitten's back.
This is a picture book that accompanies children through setbacks, and also a gentle reminder for adults. The dots in the story symbolize a child's confidence and courage; however, when things don't go as planned, everyone can fall into self-doubt and get lost in an emotional black hole.
Sometimes, just a little encouragement can make the heart shine again.
It's okay to fail or be disappointed. It's okay to be sad or want to cry. What's important is to learn to accept your imperfect side. When you can't do it, it's okay, just try again. When you are willing to try harder, we can grow into our own unique selves through each setback.
