We widely use the word "beauty" in various aspects of life.

This scenery is beautiful; the aesthetic approach of this film is quite noteworthy; the aesthetics of this nouveau riche are quite unappealing; my neighbor is a teacher specializing in art and aesthetics... "Aesthetics" is ubiquitous, permeating every aspect of our lives, from daily attire to artistic creation, and even influencing our rational judgments.

With so many "aesthetics," their meanings both overlap and are ambiguous. In conversations, we seem to grasp some of the implicit meanings of what the other person is referring to, but perhaps the beauty spoken of by both parties has never truly aligned.

Therefore, clarifying the definition becomes necessary, because definitions influence how we use a word, how we perceive the world, and how we interact with it—constructing a more understandable aesthetic landscape can more accurately reflect how our brains and the world intersect.

The purpose of this book is to deepen our understanding of this multifaceted concept, in order to more effectively think about and discuss aesthetic phenomena and experiences.
