"But you don't understand.
But you don't have to be afraid.
Every question the world gives you
Has been asked before.
But you must answer it in your own way
To death."

The new edition of "Summer of Freedom" features a new cover design and includes five new poems written by the poet Xuan Jun in 2019, commemorating Hong Kong's summer of freedom.

"Summer of Freedom," published in 2017, collects Xuan Jun's new poems written since 2005, covering urban landscapes of our city, life memories, and public justice issues collectively experienced by Hongkongers.

The new cover design is by Sinai, the designer of "Salt in the Waves." When unfolded, the cover becomes a poster containing the new poems; when folded, it becomes a book jacket, leaving a touch of blue, like a line of free sky, subtly echoing the window looking out to freedom in the original cover design.

In the blue and white sky, lies our shared summer memory and the aspiration for a boundless future.
