【Author's Words】

Since I moved to Tokyo, I've moved six times in total. Each time, just like the cat family, I was lazy and didn't pack until moving day, when I would be in a frantic rush. So, every time I moved, even unnecessary items were hastily stuffed into cardboard boxes and moved. Of course, the things in that box were completely useless and weren't even opened once until the next move. By then, I wouldn't remember what was in the box, and it would be moved again, unopened, during the next move, repeating the cycle.

I knew I wasn't good at packing, so for my most recent move, I applied for a packing service from the moving company. They worked efficiently, packing items box after box. When they encountered what seemed like useless clutter, they would ask me, "Do you still need this?" But when suddenly asked "yes or no," I don't know why, I always felt reluctant to part with it, so I replied, "Yes." As a result, I still moved useless clutter to my new home. In this aspect, I am exactly like the little kittens in the story.



Synopsis

The cat family, who loves to lie around lazily, doing nothing together,
and casually rolling around, is planning to move.

The children's task is to divide their belongings into
"needed" and "unneeded" items.
The children confidently put everything—
except toys, crumpled aluminum foil,
bottle caps from plastic bottles, deflated balloons...
into the "needed" box.

When they start packing their bags,
they can't help but keep playing and lying down.
They climb into cardboard boxes to nest,
play with newspapers wrapped around dishes,
look at photo albums and start reminiscing about the past,
and finally just start wandering around...

After playing, they need to rest for a bit,
with no sign of packing progress.
This moving process isn't easy.
Can they move smoothly?
