This book is the most authoritative and comprehensive collection of I. M. Pei's works to date. It features 50 architectural projects that Pei was primarily responsible for or acted as the architectural designer at various stages of his career. Through rich illustrations and text, it introduces the background of how Pei received commissions, his conceptualization and implementation during project design and construction, the various challenges he faced, the impact after project completion, and people's evaluations of his works.

These 50 architectural projects are arranged chronologically, spanning 60 years, and together form a history of I. M. Pei's architectural career, showcasing his many outstanding architectural works and his timeless architectural philosophy. The book includes an appendix listing all of I. M.
