In the past few years, the author Lin Zhiyang has wandered across three continents and dozens of countries. It was found that there is no essential difference between people in the east, west, south and north hemispheres. In different situations and soils, human nature is similar after all.

So the author decided to write a book about travel. But this is not a travelogue. It may be considered a collection of travel stories along the way. It records the people he met, the things he experienced, and the scenery he saw while studying in the United States and the United Kingdom, teaching in Germany, and backpacking in more than a dozen countries in Europe and the United States. He tried to restore another world in the book - a world composed of ordinary people behind the political struggles, cultural prejudices and stereotypes.

This book is divided into six chapters, using the author's journey to Germany as a clue to bring out his memories of the journey. The six chapters are about "the beginning of the journey", "small narratives in the big world", "passing cities", "wandering travelers", "meaning of life" and "cosmopolitanism". These six chapters cover his experience of teaching English debate and Chinese culture in a German high school; his experience of organizing large-scale events in foreign countries; and the strange people he met during backpacking trips (has-been stars, Oscar winners, former diplomats, etc. ); stories about traveling wildly with friends around the world and experiencing another life...

"Communication" and "tolerance" are the core values ​​that Lin Zhiyang wants to express in the book. I hope that through this book, readers can see the vastness of the world and discover what people have in common - such as kindness, love and justice - which is what Lin Zhiyang believes is the starting point of human communication. When you are at a loss when facing foreigners, when students leave Hong Kong to study abroad, or when you just meet different people and things in ordinary life, communication and tolerance are undoubtedly the core answers. Perhaps this book does respond to everyone's confusion in some respects. A small part of the prototype of this book has also been published on social networks and received more than 100,000 clicks and shares.

In addition to the text, this book also comes with postcards taken by Lin Zhiyang during the trip, as well as six song demos composed with friends during the trip, recording the confusion, melancholy, anger and joy during the trip.
